Whether working as an individual alone or as part of a team/work group and working in liaison with other team members, a hazard analysis may be required under a safety case by organisation procedures or simply as being good practice. This might be done as an independent activity in order to identify hazards and the appropriate hazard controls, or it might be done as part of a broader process, such as identifying and applying for the permits required for a job.
This course applies to situations where an individual may be required to perform gas testing prior to entering a specific area or workspace and whilst work is carried out in the workspace. Atmospheric testing is an important component of confined space work as these working environments may be hazardous, unpredictable, subject to time pressure, chaotic and expose responders to risk, on land or water, by day or night.

Refresher min. duration: 150 minutes, Face-to-face min. duration: 240 minutes

Practical scenarios: For a Confined Space scenario , complete the following:
Documentation – The student must complete site-based test gas report forms
Theory assessment – A written assessment consisting of short answer and multiple-choice questions. The student must complete all assessment questions.
